Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a syndrome that involves a highly altered sense of inner and outer reality to which the afflicted person responds in ways that impair his or her life. The term literally means "splitting of the mind." Schizophrenia refers to the incongruity between different mental functions.

The most common symptoms of schizophrenia are: delusions, hallucinations, emotional disturbance, volitional disturbance, disturbed speech, and disturbed motor activity.
