Q: How is a psychiatrist different from a psychologist?

A: A psychiatrist has a college degree, has completed medical school (M.D.), and has completed residency training in psychiatry. Various sub-specializations require additional years of training. Psychiatrists are physicians that specialize in psychiatric disorders. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor.

A psychologist has a college degree, and has then completed a Ph.D. program. A psychologist is not a medical doctor.

Q: Are the psychiatrists at Raj Clinics Board Certified?

A: All psychiatrists at Raj Clinics hold a diplomate from the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. In addition, the psychiatrists at Raj Clinics hold other board certifications, such as Addiction Medicine, Addiction Psychiatry, Adolescent Psychiatry, and/or Geriatric Psychiatry.
